Senior Geophysicist/Data Processing Manager

Job Description:

The Senior Geophysicist/Data Processing Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of 2-D and 3-D time and/or depth projects to support the Clients Asia Pacific region.  This includes coordination with clients data processing, data management and customer service groups located internationally.  Responsibilities will include – and consideration will be given to individuals that can promote – the expansion of  clients data processing services within the Asia Pacific region.  The individual will interface with external clients to promote data processing technologies and capabilities, as well as, coordinate data management services and ensure quality control.

Key Experience and Skills

To apply for this position you should possess:

·         A minimum of 7 years experience in processing; experience in time or/and depth processing is desirable.

You should also have the following abilities:

·         Ability to promote processing services to the industry, including seek out business opportunities and prepare services proposals.

·         Enjoy working in a team environment, yet can work independently.

·         Good grasp of geophysical and geological principles.

·         Advanced problem solving and multi-tasking skills.

·         Experience with UNIX and/or Linux based software packages and workstations.

·         Ability to manage projects proficiently with little supervision.

·         Ability to identify data problems and demonstrate workflow of solutions. 

·         Ability to perform simple interpretations.

·         Strong leadership and communication skills.  Good command of the English language.

·         Motivated to produce superior quality products while adhering to project timelines and client commitments.

·         Proficient in the use of MS Office especially PowerPoint.

·         Qualified to work in Australia.

You will be required to:

·         Coordinate across other client groups to ensure data processing and quality control steps are performed.

·         Oversee Data Management activities related to data sets and clients within the region.

·         Perform limited data processing locally, where necessary.

·         Perform simple interpretations locally, where necessary.

·         Promote and present TGS data processing services within the region.

·         Prepare proposals to secure data processing contracts.

·         Assess potential data processing capacity requirements within the region.
